“ | Moans and cries, lost in the darkness... | „ |
Fears, regrets, delusions of grandeur, dreams of glory, the hope of redemption; these are just some of the myriad forces that bring these poor wandering souls to the Estate. However, in this remote place, there is an evil that permeates the land; a corruption so pervasive that it blurs the boundary between life and death, the material and the invisible, and even dreams from reality. Here it can be hard to distinguish that which is made from living flesh, blood, and bone and that which is merely a figment or manifestation of a delusional mind. In this place, it is often the latter that poses the gravest threat. And with a marinade of fears, regrets, and past traumas your employees had experienced in life, it may be only a matter of time before these emotions and figments take on a life of their own and become something far deadlier.
Ever since the arrival of the Shieldbreaker, something else also has come the Estate. She may have found something when she was lost in that accursed desert and she may have unknowingly brought it with her to the estate, or she is trying to run away from it, but it keeps following her relentlessly. However, whatever it may be, only one thing is clear: it has slithered its way into the Estate and now it is lurking just out of sight, hiding in the underbrush, behind rocks, and in the twisted shadows of your Estate, waiting to strike your heroes at night.
It seem to be an illusion given power and form by the Shieldbreaker’s fears and delusions or some otherworldly creature that feeds on the fear and delusions of the Shieldbreaker, manifesting themselves as the things she fears the most. The Estate is already drenched in the fears and mad delusions of your heroes, so it is natural that it has become the new feeding grounds of this thing.
The Pliskin is one of these illusions, a cobra of unusual size; this poisonous fanged desert reptile is quick to strike and sink its fangs deep into the flesh of your heroes. While this serpent is supposed to be just a figment of the imagination, your heroes can feel its fangs pierce their skin and poison burn beneath it.
Behavior[]
The Pliskin is a Beast type enemy that appears during the Shieldbreaker's nightmares, or in very rare encounters after all the nightmares have been completed. It appears as a giant cobra, and can devastate the team with powerful blight attacks and extremely high crit chances while stealthed.
Pliskins act similarly to the Spitter spiders, since it either bites (Infuse) in the front rows or spits (Venomous Gleek) in the back, and both attacks apply powerful blight damage. For both attacks, it will prioritize targets with lower blight resistance (1.5x) and marked targets (2x).
The Pliskin will always spawn stealthed, and with a buff for a massive +15% CRIT. Breaking its stealth, either by waiting or using moves such as the Shieldbreaker's Expose, will remove the buff.
Strategy[]
With stealth, massive crit chances, and a decent amount of dodge and protection, Pliskins are potentially devastating foes. The most important thing is to remove their stealth as soon as possible: equipping the Shieldbreaker's Expose ability before camping will lessen the danger.
Their most dangerous ability, Infuse, can only be used when in the front ranks. Pushing Pliskins to the back with skills like the Bounty Hunter's Uppercut, or pulling other enemies forward, will reduce their effectiveness dramatically by forcing them to use Venomous Gleek with no way to move themselves forward.
Defeating the group of snakes brings great rewards, as they drop Aegis Scales when they die, as well as a Shieldbreaker-specific trinket and journal pages for the Shieldbreaker's story. The entire party also receives a quest buff for -15% Stress, except for the Shieldbreaker, who receives -33% Stress and +3% CRIT. However, the battle will end if the Shieldbreaker falls on Death's Door, and failing will cause a terrible quest-long debuff on the party instead, granting +33% Stress and -5 ACC for the Shieldbreaker and +15% Stress for all other party members.

Trivia[]
- The name of this enemy is a reference to Iroquois Pliskin, an alias used by Solid Snake in Metal Gear Solid 2, which in turn is a reference to Snake Plissken, the protagonist of the movie Escape from New York.
