The Gnashers are enemies found in the Weald, and will never be alone, for they hunt in menacing packs surrounding the area. Fast and agile, they rush forth and pounce on their prey, taking bites that leave them bleeding out and potentially infected with the same disease that drive their feral behaviour.

Though wild ones restrict themselves to the Weald, some have been domesticated by the Brigands' leader, used as attack dogs for his raids.

Behavior[]

The combination of high speed, bleed and disease inflicting attack make these enemies a high priority target. As said above, these hunters never appear alone and will commonly appear in pairs of two, aided by a seemingly random enemy in the back lines. Another scenario is a group of three Gnashers appearing on their own, which may prove very troublesome. Due to their considerable dodge chance, accuracy remains a serious issue in dispatching these mangy canines. Unfortunately, failure to dispatch them will result in terrible consequences, as their high CRIT not only has a higher chance of inflicting bleeds and diseases, but will inflict party-wide stress as well. It should be noted that when using Rabid Rush, they will move forwards, so use the positioning of multiple Rabid Gnashers to your advantage in order to kill the Gnasher that will take its turn first; the further back a Gnasher is, the more likely it is that it will take a turn.

Trivia[]

It can be surmised that all Gnashers have rabies (as their name suggests) due to fact that all of them have a chance to inflict Rabies. Unlike the majority if Disease types, the stat modifiers of Rabies has a positive and negative component: +15% Damage and -10% Accuracy. For certain party compositions, a player may sometimes find it beneficial not to remove the Rabies disease on particular specific hero classes for the bonus damage, while mitigating the accuracy penalty with trinkets or buffs. Should someone intentionally seek out the infection, these enemies are undoubtedly the easiest way to attain it.
