The only warning of this towering behemoth of muscle and flesh's impending arrival is the thundering claps of its hooves upon stone. The Swinetaur is a hulking, armor-clad brute that appears to be another twisted offspring between man and pig, with the man-like upper body of a human and the lower body of a gigantic pig. What it lacks in intellect, it more than makes up for in strength and stamina, which is why Swinefolk with some capacity for intelligence came up with the brilliant ideas to equip the Swinetaur with a lance in hand and battle-worn gladiatorial armor. Being a champion for the Swine, this hulking beast will show you its frightening displays of combat, charging and impaling its prey with one savage stab with their lance, delivering one stunning and crushing blow with their other hand, and then charge again with its lance in one mighty lunge that can spit-roast even the toughest adventurers, assuming that the beast has the room to maneuver.
Behavior[]
The Swinetaur is a large enemy that appears in Veteran-tier or harder expeditions in the Warrens. This amalgamation of Swinefolk and centaur operates like a jousting knight, creating distance between itself and the party before charging at them, delivering a powerful blow with its spear to either the entire party at once, or to the frontmost hero — the force from such an impact is enough to send one flying.
The Swinetaur can inflict massive area of effect damage, topped off with high HP and high protection status. However, it is extremely position-dependent, as its hardest-hitting attacks require it to charge at its enemies from the back ranks. Typically, it will start by using Trot Retreat to fall back to the rear, and then following up with Boar Rush or Pig Spear the next turn. Generally, you should try to stun him if you can, then quickly kill off the other enemies and destroy their corpses. Without anything to retreat behind, the Swinetaur will be trapped in the front ranks and forced to use its comparatively-weak Crunching Backhand.
