Random expedition trivia:

  • in scout mission you can skip 1 room in apprentice dungeon, its always 2 in veteran and champion
  • If you retreat from room battle, room still counts as scouted
  • collect/activate missions are considered to be the easiest, as quest curios can spawn close to each other
  • when chosing an expedition, most important thing to look at is a trinket reward. second most important - heirlooms you need to upgrade the Hamlet
  • while its not necessary to explore a dungeon completely, its highly recommended to do so after the quest is completed for extra loot or shambler fight. even if you party gets wiped, quest still counts as succesfully completed.
  • there always will be 1 apprentice level mission in case you decide to dismiss your champion roster
  • short missions, despite being the easiest, are not recommended as they dont provide enough loot to pay for provisions and hero's treatments

Hi. 1 and 2 are already mentioned in the page. I'll be sure to add some clarification on point 3 although there already is something about risk factoring. We'll need confirmation about 6 and 7 to know for sure before adding that information. About 5, if you get your party wiped I don't think you'll get any loot or reward since the heroes are all dead, no? Finally, number 4 sounds a lot like personal decision making depending on one's needs, so all we could add about it is something to clarify the factors to look at - telling the players what to choose will fit better in a guide than here. --itaShadd (talk) 01:11, 16 January 2016 (UTC)
  • 1. Right now it says "with larger dungeons having a proportionally higher amount of rooms that an be avoided", I meant to clarify that its always 2 rooms in long/medium dangeons, regardless of difficulty level.
  • 2. My bad, didnt see it
  • 4. Its not really based on a preference. With random trinket rewards you want to grab a powerful trinket as soon as you see one. You can get, for example, gold or heirlooms later, but there is no guarantee youll come across that particular trinket again. Although we dont want to tell players what to do, i think its worth to mention factors one needs to consider when choosing on what quest to embark: trinket rewards, heroes available at the moment, region specifics (ex. negative quirk removal in the cove, some heroes effectiveness being higher or lower in specific region), heirlooms or gold rewards.
  • 5. You dont get any loot, but you still receive quest rewards. The idea is that its safer to take risks after completing the quest, as party already completed the objective and can retreat/return to Hamlet at any given time.
  • 6. Not sure what conformation you need here. Even if with roster full of champions, there always will be 1 small apprentice mission in case one wants to dismiss his current heroes and get a new party from stage coach.
  • 7. I may have gotten ahead of myself here, short missions obviously yield small profit, but, when hunting for gold, its still more efficient to do medium/long runs.

1 I'll try to confirm that and add it.
4 I'll add a section on rewards.
5 I'll add this information in a section about failing expeditions.
6 Missions are generated randomly, so we need to confirm if this is always true (for example I always have some low level heroes, so I wouldn't be sure because there always would be several apprentice quests). If a developer publicly said this somewhere, we could add a link to that in the references.
7 Well, that's only natural since they're also harder and the game plays a lot on the concept of risk/reward, but I'll try to clarify the point where needed. --itaShadd (talk) 15:02, 16 January 2016 (UTC)
I have a 400 week save, with full roster of champions of course. There is no reason, besides what I said higher, to have apprentice mission every week on that save.

Allowed difference between hero level and mission level:

There is written that "Heroes that are two or more levels above the expedition level will refuse to take part in it". But I am able to send 4 level hero on 1 level mission on Radiant difficulty. --Miteusz0 (talk) 22:29, 31 October 2018 (UTC)
