The Urchin is a Gaunt enemy in Darkest Dungeon II encountered in all regions except The Mountain.
Description[]
The skittish Urchin can be found throughout an expedition, typically in road battles and at the Chirurgeon's Table. His music box is his greatest treasure and his greatest burden; the Urchin's entire combat strategy revolves around its very specific use.
Usually starting in the back ranks, Urchin will spend his first turn in battle moving backwards to use Song of Shadows to gain Stealth and generate a
Crit token. The following turn, if he is still in Stealth, Urchin will unleash Haunting Melody, rushing to the front and dealing moderate damage with great
stress.
This haunting melody is a cry for help, a memory of happier times, and a dire warning for those still strong enough to carry the flame. Urchins are often a priority target in Gaunt battles, if only for their extremely high and focused stress output.

Trivia[]
- The use of a music box may be a reference to the Madman from the first game, an enemy who also specialized in stress output, and had a rare chance to drop one of three music boxes as trinkets.
